Product Overview

The SOM-PH8800 is a CPU module of PH180-EVK evaluation kit with AM4378BZDND100 (491 contacts BGA) processor on-board. The AM4378BZDND100 processor has 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 core, 1G (512M*2) DDR3 SDRAM, 4GB eMMc, 32MB QSPI flash and 32KByte EEPROM. The SOM-PH8800 SBC board (single board computer) is compatible with whole family of AM437x processors including AM4376, AM4377, AM4378 and AM4379, making it possible to realize different configurations by changing processors. It is connected to expansion boards through PH180 interface defined by Embest to provide power and function as a bridge to the connector and expansion I/Os on expansion boards. The SOM-PH8800 supports hardware encryption accelerator (AES, SHA, RNG, DES and 3DES), safe booting, two 1000M Ethernet and internal switch mode. It also features one power indicator LED and two user defined LEDs.

  • 6 x HRPWM, 3 x eQEP, 3 x 32bit eCAP and set of 12bit SAR ADC
  • 5V power supply, 32KB of both L1 instruction and data cache, 256KB of L2 cache or L3 RAM
  • Programmable real time unit subsystem and industrial communication subsystem (PRU-ICSS)
  • supports SG x 530 graphics engine and RTC
  • Expansion board provides 5V power to PMIC which converts into voltages required by MPU & peripherals
  • NEON SIMD xoprocessor and vector floating point (VFPv3) coprocessor
  • Dimension of 70mm x 50mm x 8.5mm
  • Operating temperature range from 0 to 70°C (commercial grade) and -40°C to 85°C (industrial grade)
