What is a snap-in aluminium electrolytic capacitor?

Snap-in aluminium electrolytic capacitors feature two pin or three pin snap-in terminals making them easy to mount on the application PCB.

Snap-in capacitors are used in a wide variety of applications because of the many advantages they provide. The aluminium case is fully insulated. The marking of the polarity makes installation easy. The safety vent on the base provides overload protection. Snap-in solder pins hold this component in place on the PC-board. They are made in many different case sizes. They have a high ripple current capability.

The Multicomp Pro MCLPR series capacitors are snap in polarized aluminium electrolytic capacitors. These capacitors are large size capacitors with specially designed self-standing terminals and can be directly soldered to printed circuit boards without holders. MCLPR capacitors can easily fix to printed circuit boards due to specially designed terminals.

Our range also includes screw terminal products such as the Epcos B41456 series: these are compact, long life polarized aluminium electrolytic capacitors with screw terminals. The capacitance value ranges from 2200µF to 680000µF. These highly reliable capacitors have welded construction for ensuring reliable electrical contacts.
