Product Overview
ADUM4221-1 is an isolated, half bridge gate driver that employ the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology to provide independent and isolated high-side and low-side outputs. Combining high speed CMOS and monolithic transformer technology, this isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to the alternatives, such as the combination of pulse transformers and gate drivers. This device has built in overlap protection and allows dead time adjustment. It is widely used in application such as switching power supplies, isolated IGBT/MOSFET gate drives, industrial inverters, gallium nitride (GaN)/silicon carbide (SiC) compatible etc.
- Pulse width distortion is 5ns typ at (CL = 2.2nF, VDD1 = 5V, VDDA and VDDB = 15V, RG = 5.1 ohm)
- Adjustable dead time
- 4A peak current (<lt/>2 Ω RDSON-x)
- Logic input voltage is 2.5V to 6.5V
- Output voltage is 4.5V min
- Propagation delay (falling edge) is 30ns typ
- CMOS input logic levels, default low output
- High common-mode transient immunity is 150kV/μs
- Operating temperature is −40°C to +125°C, input is PWM
