                      Product Overview

                      MAX13236EETE+ is a RS-232 transceiver with a low-voltage interface, ±15kV HBM ESD. This device achieves a 1µA supply current using Auto Shutdown Plus™ feature. This device automatically enters a low-power shutdown mode when the RS-232 cable is disconnected or the devices driving the transmitter and receiver inputs are inactive for more than 30s. It is used in applications such as telematics, GPS systems, industrial systems, portable devices, wireless modules, POS systems, communication systems, and data cables.

                      • 250kbps maximum data rate, integrated ±15kV HBM ESD protection
                      • Integrated low-voltage logic for easy interface with ASICs and microcontrollers
                      • Integrated charge-pump circuitry requiring only four external 0.1µF capacitors for 3.3V operation
                      • Supply voltage range from +3V to +5.5V, 1 x 1 drivers/receivers
                      • VCC supply current is 1mA maximum at (FORCEOFF = FORCEON = VL, no loads)
                      • Input resistance is 5Kohm typical at (VCC = +3V to +5.5V, VL = +1.62V to VCC)
                      • Receiver propagation delay is 0.15µs typical at (CL = 150pF, VCC = +3V to +5.5V)
                      • Transition-region slew rate is 30V/µs typical at (VCC = +3.3V, TA = +25°C)
                      • Output leakage current is +25µA maximum at (VCC = 0V or +3V to +5.5V, VOUT = ±12V)
                      • Operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, 16 TQFN-EP package
