Product Overview
The MAX13487EESA+T is a half duplex, ±15KV ESD protected RS485/RS422 compatible transceiver with AutoDirection control architecture in 8 pin NSOIC package. This +5V powered transceiver has one driver and one receiver. The MAX13487E includes hot swap capability to eliminate false transitions on bus during power-up or live insertion. AutoDirection control architecture makes the device ideal for applications such as isolated RS485 ports where the driver input is used in conjunction with driver enable signal to drive differential bus. The MAX13487E has reduced slew rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables allowing error free transmission up to 500Kbps. The device has 1/4 unit load receiver input impedance, it allows up to 128 transceivers on the bus. All driver outputs are protected to ±15KV ESD using the human body model (HBM). It is typically used in utility meters and automated systems.
