MAX14784EASD+

MAX14784EASD+ is a full-duplex RS-485 transceiver designed for robust communication in harsh industrial environments. It features ±35KV ESD protection on the RS-485 pins and operates from a 3V to 5.5V supply with a 4mA no-load supply current (max). It is optimized for communication over very long cables or short unterminated cables. It is used in applications such as motion controllers, encoder interfaces, HVAC control systems, and utility meters.

• ±35kV ESD (HBM) protection on RS-485 I/O ports
• Integrated receiver deglitch filter increases noise immunity
• Short-circuit protected outputs, true fail-safe receiver, thermal shutdown
• 1/4-unit load allows up to 128 transceivers on the bus
• Supply current is 1.9mA typical at (DE = high, RE = low, no load)
• Shutdown supply current is 5μA typical at (DE = low, RE = high, TA = +25°C)
• Driver propagation delay is 1000ns maximum at (RL = 54ohm, CL = 50pF)
• 500Kbps max data rate, driver slew rate limited, driver/receiver enable
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, 14-pin SO package
