Product Overview
ST232EBDR is a ±15KV ESD-protected 5 V RS-232 transceiver. Each transmitter output and receiver input is protected against ±15KV electrostatic discharge (ESD) shocks. The drivers meet all EIA/TIA-232E and CCITT V.28 specifications at data rates upto 230Kbps, when loaded in accordance with the EIA/TIA-232E specification. It uses a single 5V supply voltage. It operates with four 0.1µF capacitors.
- VCC power supply current is 5mA typical at (no load, TA = 25°C)
- Input leakage current is ±10µA maximum at (C1 - C4 = 0.1µF, VCC = 5V ±10%)
- Transition slew rate is 6V/µs typical at (TA = 25°C, VCC = 5V, RL = 3 to 7Kohm, CL = 50 to 1000pF)
- Data rate is 400Kbits/s typical at (RL = 3 to 7Kohm, CL = 50 to 1000pF)
- Transmitter output resistance is 300 ohm minimum at (C1 - C4 = 0.1µF, VCC = 5V ±10%)
- Propagation delay time is 2µA typical at (RL = 3 to 7Kohm, CL = 50 to 2500pF)
- RS-232 input resistance is 5Kohm typical at (TA = 25°C, VCC = 5V)
- Transmitter output short circuit current is ±10mA typical at (C1 - C4 = 0.1µF, VCC = 5V ±10%)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
