Product Overview
±15KV ESD protected, low power RS485/RS422 transceiver. Each driver output and receiver input is protected against ± 15KV electrostatic discharge (HBM) (ESD) shocks, without latch-up. This parts contain one driver and one receiver in half duplex configuration. The ST485E is designed for bi-directional data communications on multipoint bus transmission lines (half-duplex applications).
- Operates from a single supply
- 300µA low quiescent current
- Designed for RS485 interface application
- Common mode input voltage range from -7 to 12V
- Driver maintains high impedance in 3-state or with the power OFF
- 70mV typical input hysteresis
- 30ns propagation delay, 5ns skew
- Current limiting and thermal shutdown for driver overload protection
- Allows up to 256 transceivers on the bus
- Temperature range from 0°C to 70°C
