Product Overview
The 5414 2" X 36 YD from 3M is a transparent water soluble wave solder tape. It has a poly-vinyl alcohol (PVA) backing which is water soluble and a synthetic water soluble adhesive to mask gold fingers on printed circuit boards during wave soldering. It is designed for use in masking gold finger areas on printed circuit boards during the wave soldering and then will dissolve completely away during typical in-line aqueous cleaning processes.

- 4oz/in adhesion to stainless, 0.1Kg/25.4mm, 0.4N/cm adhesion to stainless (metric)
- Kraft paper primary liner
- 2.1mil total tape thickness without liner, 0.053mm total tape thickness without liner (metric)
- Temperature range from -40°C to 240°C (-40°F to 464°F)
- 6lb/in tensile strength at break, 105.1N/100mm tensile strength at break (metric)
- Low static upon liner release and when taping circuit board and die-cuttable
- Moisture barrier packaging plus desiccant and no adhesive residue after removal
- Humidity extremes do not affect tape properties, easy manual and machine application
- Polyethylene tape core instead of cardboard
