MAX238EWG+

The MAX238EWG+ is a +5V powered multichannel RS232 driver/receiver in 24 pin WSOIC package. This device is intended for all EIA/TIA-232E and V.28/V.24 communications interfaces. It is particularly suitable for applications where ±12V is not available. The MAX238 has four sections such as dual charge pump DC to DC voltage converter, RS232 driver, RS232 receiver and receiver/transmitter enable control inputs. The integrated charge pump circuitry eliminates the need for bipolar ±12V supply and enables single supply operation from +5V supply.

• Supply voltage range from 4.5V to 5.5V
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
• Four RS232 drivers and four RS232 receivers
• Saves board space
• Data rate of 120Kbps
• Transition slew rate is 5.1V/μs (CL = 50pF to 2500pF, RL = 3Kohm to 7Kohm)
• VCC supply current of 7mA with no load
