The NCP3063BSTEXGEVB is a boost demonstration external MOSFET evaluation board featuring NCP3063 buck/boost/inverting switching regulator. The NCP3063 consists of an internal temperature compensated reference, comparator, controlled duty cycle oscillator with an active current limit circuit, driver and high current output switch. The NCP3063 was specifically designed to be incorporated in step down, step up, or voltage inverting applications with a minimum number of external components. This regulator supports a boost configuration with a wide input voltage range from 3.0V to 40.0V input. The NCP3063 is a low cost converter that supports a peak current of 1.5A with a maximum duty cycle of 85.7 % and it can also be used as a controller for peak currents greater than 1.5A when an external device is used. The use of an external device also allows operating frequencies beyond 150KHz to minimize component size.
