MCP23008T-E/ML

MCP23008T-E/ML is an 8bit I/O expander with a serial interface. This device provides 8bit, general-purpose, parallel I/O expansion for I²C bus applications. It consists of multiple 8bit configuration registers for input, output and polarity selection. The system host can enable the I/Os as either inputs or outputs by writing the I/O Configuration bits. The data for each input or output is kept in the corresponding Input or output register. The polarity of the Input Port register can be inverted with the Polarity Inversion register. All registers can be read by the system host.

• AEC-Q100 qualified, 8bit remote bidirectional I/O port (pin GP7 is output only for MCP23008)
• Three hardware address pins for the MCP23008 to allow up to eight devices on the bus
• Configurable as active-high, active-low or open-drain
• Interrupt-on-change from configured defaults or pin change
• Polarity inversion register to configure the polarity of the input port data
• External reset input, low standby current is 1µA maximum
• Supply voltage range from 1.8V to 5.5V, supply current is 1MHz max at ( SCL/SCK = 1MHz)
• Active-low RESET pulse width (low) is 1µs minimum
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C
