                      Product Overview

                      STCS1APHR is a BiCMOS constant current source LED driver designed to provide a precise constant current starting from a varying input voltage source. The main target is to replace discrete components solutions for driving LEDs in low voltage applications such as 5V, 12V or 24V giving benefits in terms of precision, integration and reliability. The current is set with an external resistor up to 1.5A with a ±10 % precision; a dedicated pin allows implementing PWM dimming. An external capacitor allows setting the slope for the current rise from tens of microseconds to tens of milliseconds allowing a reduction of EMI. An open-drain pin output provides information on load disconnection conditions. The application includes LED constant current supplying for varying input voltages, low voltage lighting, small appliances LED lighting.

                      • Supply voltage range from 4.5V to 40V, less than 0.5V voltage overhead
                      • PWM dimming pin, shutdown pin
                      • LED disconnection diagnostic, slope control with external cap
                      • Output current is 500mA typical at (RFB = 0.2 ohm, VCC = 12V; IO = 100mA; TJ = -40°C to 125°C)
                      • Quiescent current (measured on VCC pin) is 1µA max at (shutdown mode; VCC = 5 to 12V)
                      • Dropout voltage (VDRAIN to GND) is 0.12A typical at (IO = 100mA, VCC = 12V)
                      • Drain leakage current is 10µA maximum at (shutdown; VDRAIN = 40V, TJ = -40°C to 125°C)
                      • 800µs typ rise/fall time of the current on PWM transition at (CSLOPE = 10nF, TJ= -40°C to 105°C)
                      • Junction temperature range from -40°C to 150°C
