The 1705-2 is a Weatherproof Crimp Male Plug, SHV series, with gold-plated contacts, PTFE insulation and straight orientation. The SHV outer contact ground connection is maintained through the centre contact mating cycle. The centre contacts are recessed to prevent shock hazards when the connectors are unmated. High voltage connectors are designed for use where the normal operating voltage of standard coaxial connectors is inadequate.

- Non-constant impedance
- Quick to connect and disconnect with bayonet coupling
- Recessed centre contacts prevent shock hazards while unmated
