ST490ABDR is a low-power high-speed RS-485/RS-422 transceiver. This device contains one driver and one receiver in full duplex configuration. It draws 5mA (typ.) of supply current when unloaded or fully loaded with disabled drivers. It operates from a single 5V supply. The driver is short-circuit current limited and is protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into a high-impedance state. The receiver input has a fail-safe feature that guarantees a logic-high output if both inputs are open circuits.
- Common mode input voltage range from -7V to 12V
- Designed for 25Mbps operation
- ±4kV ESD protection
- Current limiting and thermal shutdown for driver overload protection
- Input capacitance is 1.8pF typical at (VCC = 4.5V to 5.5V, TA = -40°C to 85°C)
- Logic input current is ±2.0μA maximum at (VCC = 4.5V to 5.5V, TA = -40°C to 85°C)
- Receiver input resistance is 24Kohm typical at (VCM = -7V to 12V)
- Maximum data rate is 50Mbps typical at (VCC = 4.5V to 5.5V, TA = -40°C to 85°C)
- Propagation delay input to output is 10ns typical at (RL= 54 ohm, CL1 = CL2 = 50pF)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, SO-8 package
