The VIPER06XSTR is a VIPer™ plus fixed-frequency energy-saving Off-line Converter with an 800V avalanche rugged power section, a PWM controller, a user-defined over-current limit, open-loop failure protection and hysteretic thermal protection. The 4W high voltage converter features soft start-up and safe auto-restart after any fault condition. The device is able to power itself directly from the rectified mains and eliminating the need for an auxiliary bias winding. Burst mode operation and the device have very low power consumption both help to meet the standards set by energy-saving regulations.
